Grameen Shikkha deeply mourns the death of its Honourable Director Mr. M Shahjahan who has been a Member on Grameen Shikkha Board of Directors since the inception of Shikkha in 1997.
Former Managing Director of Grameen Bank and a financial expert, Mr. Shahjahan has been Director or Advisor of almost all Grameen companies. He was a close associate of Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus during the earlier days of Grameen Bank and has been an indispensable part in the Grameen Group for his long time contribution to its various organization. He was an extremely gentle person – very soft-spoken and always respectful to his seniors and affectionate to his juniors.
May the Almighty rest his soul in eternal peace in heaven and give strength to his bereaved family to bear the shock of his departure.
