Scholarship Management Program
The Scholarship Management Program of Grameen Shikkha started in 2003 with the objective of assisting, with sponsor support, poor rural children complete high school education and advance toward higher and IT education. More than 7,200 poor students, nearly a thousand of whom are now studying medicine, engineering, pure science, textile engineering, business administration, law, economics, arts etc. in the best educational institutions of the country with Grameen Shikkha scholarship, have so far received financial assistance under this program. Hundreds of Grameen Shikkha scholars, having finished their education, are now employed in respectable professions like doctor, engineer, college and university teacher, public servant etc. A few are also pursuing more advanced education in renowned universities in USA, Europe and Japan. Nearly 60 percent of Grameen Shikkha scholars are girls.
