Funded by Tesco Foundation (Tesco Sourcing Ltd., UK), the "Tesco Higher Education Scholarship Project for the Children of Workers in Bangladesh" is a five years program that started from July 2021. The project aims at providing financial support in the form of scholarship to children of workers of Tesco supplier factories in Bangladesh. A total of 600 students studying in high school, college and universities will receive scholarship under the last year (July 2025-June 2026) of the project. A total of 11 Supplier Factories are taking part in the program now. These Suppliers are: Rhea HK Ltd.(Jo Y Jo), the Utah Group (Utah Fashions and Utah Knitting & Dyeing), Cosmopolitan Industries (Pvt) Ltd. (Epic Group), Aman Knittings Ltd., Divine Intimates Ltd. (Four H Group), Shanta Industries Ltd. (Dewhirst Group), Interstoff Apparels Ltd., KDS IDR Ltd., LF Fashion Ltd., Poeticgem International Ltd., and Stuart Peters (Coast to Coast, Rose Garments, Golden Refit, and Designtex). The project is approved by the NGO Affairs Bureau of Bangladesh Government and has a budget of BDT 106.88 lacs for the project year July 2025-June 2026. Project activities are supervised by the Scholarship Management Program of Grameen Shikkha. Objective of the project is to assist these students complete secondary, higher secondary and higher education and be successfully employed in jobs.
