The GrameenShikkha-Professors Doctors David and Kathee Jordan Non-formal Slum School Project is funded by the Seven Hills Foundation, USA to provide non-formal primary education to 50 slum children in Mirpur Section-11 under Dhaka North City Corporation. The project, that is approved by the NGO Affairs Bureau of Bangladesh Government with a yearly budget of BDT 1.89 lacs for the year 2023, is providing grade-2 primary education to 50 local slum childrenin two shifts – morning and afternoon shifts, each shift with 25 students.Project activities are supervised from the local Grameen Shikkha office in Section-10, Mirpur. The Directorate of Primary Education under the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education of Bangladesh Government, thanks to Bangladesh Govdernment, is supplying text books free of cost for students of this school.
