 The second batch of Japan Automechanic School – a joint venture by Grameen Shikkha, S K Dream of Japan, and Rangs Workshop Ltd. – completed its two years automechanic course in December 2017. The graduation ceremony was held on 18 December 2017 at the auditorium of Grameen Bank head office in Mirour-2, Dhaka.

Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chairman of Japan Automechanic Ltd., is seen at the first graduation ceremony of Japan Automechanic School along with Ms. Nurjahan Bagum, former Managing Director of Grameen Shikkha and now Advisor to Professor Yunus, Mr. Tsuneaki Hirao, Managing Director of Japan Automechanic Ltd., Mr. Duncan Power, Director of Japan Automechanic Ltd., and all 10 graduates of the first batch of the school.

The first batch of Japan Automechanic School, a joint venture by Grameen Shikkha, S K Dream of Japan, and Rangs Workshop Ltd., completed its two years automechanic course in December 2016.

ID Group of France Supporting Primary Education for Dhaka Slum Children through Grameen Shikkha
Image ID Group, France has started a non-formal slum school project called “Grameen Shikkha- IDGROUP TEXEUROP Non-formal Slum School Project” in the slum areas of Mirpur in Dhaka City Corporation. Nearly 1400 poor slum children are studying in different grades in 25 schools conducted under this project. Children enroll in grade-1 in these schools to move through grades 2, 3, 4 and 5 and finally complete primary education after a five years cycle. Public school text books supplied by local education office are used to teach students in these schools.
