GS-CISD Non-formal Education Project for Slum Children:
This project called the Non-formal Education for Slum Children (NESC), started in late 2005 with financial assistance from CISD. The project is conducted in Sections 10, 11 and 12 of Mirpur area of Dhaka City Corporation.

There are 600 students under this program organized into 20 schools, each with 30 students. All the students will attain the competencies of grade five over a period of five years. They learn Bangla, English, mathematics, environment and social sciences. The first batch of students under this project completed their fifth grade in 2010. A new batch started from 2011.
