Japan Automechanic School’s Second Graduation Ceremony Held

 The second batch of Japan Automechanic School – a joint venture by Grameen Shikkha, S K Dream of Japan, and Rangs Workshop Ltd. – completed its two years automechanic course in December 2017. The graduation ceremony was held on 18 December 2017 at the auditorium of Grameen Bank head office in Mirour-2, Dhaka.

Japan Automechanic School Graduation Ceremony December 2016

Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chairman of Japan Automechanic Ltd., is seen at the first graduation ceremony of Japan Automechanic School along with Ms. Nurjahan Bagum, former Managing Director of Grameen Shikkha and now Advisor to Professor Yunus, Mr. Tsuneaki Hirao, Managing Director of Japan Automechanic Ltd., Mr. Duncan Power, Director of Japan Automechanic Ltd., and all 10 graduates of the first batch of the school.

The first batch of Japan Automechanic School, a joint venture by Grameen Shikkha, S K Dream of Japan, and Rangs Workshop Ltd., completed its two years automechanic course in December 2016.

Ms. Andrea Jung Visits Grameen Shikkha Slum Schools
Ms. Andrea Jung in Grameen Shikkha slum schoolMs. Andrea Jung, President and CEO of Grameen America, visited a couple of Grameen Shikkha slum schools in Mirpur in Dhaka City Corporation in June 2014, during her visit to Dhaka to attend the Social Business Day 2014. Ms. Jung was highly impressed at Grameen Shikkha’s non-formal primary school program for poor slum children. There are 20 such schools where nearly 1,200 children are receiving education.
